Ghanaian artisans craft functional art for the wall featuring iconic West African Adinkra symbols. Each hook is crafted from sturdy metal and textured hand carved wood, with three pegs for hanging hats, scarves, jewelry, towels and much more. The Adinkra symbols were designed by the Akan people from Côte d’Ivoire and Ghana during the early 1800s. Many of the symbols represent proverbs related to life, death, wisdom, and human behavior. These symbols were often painted or stamped as patterns onto fabrics and pottery.

This symbol is dwennimmen or ram's horns. It's a symbol reminding us that even the strong must be humble.
