JamieLou Delavan - Executive Director

Director - JamieLou Delavan

JamieLou joined Dunia Marketplace as Executive Director in 2019.  Prior to Dunia’s she served as a cultural liaison at Idaho Department of Health & Welfare, working with marginalized communities throughout the state. She remembers when she first stepped foot in Dunia’s. It was soon after she moved to Boise in 1994. It was called Ten Thousand Villages then.  Many of the items from Africa were reminiscent of her childhood in Botswana and Zimbabwe. And then there are the crafts from the land of her ancestors, the Philippines.  It all reminded her of home.

JamieLou has a degree in Non-Western Art History. She sees working at Dunia’s as an unexpected opportunity to blend her love of culture, art, community, and social justice. One of the many things she loves about Fair Trade is its respect for cultural heritage and focus on sustaining cultures and revitalizing traditions.

When JamieLou is not at the shop you may find her riding her cruiser on the Greenbelt, playing with her grandchild, or traveling with her husband of 34 years, usually with her eye somewhere behind her camera.

Diana ParkerVice President - Diana Parker

Prior to moving to Boise, Diana was the founder of Spoken Media, a public relations and impact production house focused on “illuminating stories for good.” She delighted in representing documentary films that had the potential to make a strong difference in the lives of many. Through effective film festival launches and broadcast opportunities on PBS, HBO and numerous other channels, Diana would generate audience engagement and help her filmmakers find meaningful ways to address issues related to education, the environment, and community empowerment. She also loves stories of resilience which led her to produce Desert Runners in 2014, a documentary film about the people who challenge themselves to run four ultra-marathons in four deserts over one year. The film is currently available on Amazon Prime.

Diana loves living in Boise with her husband, Craig, and two dogs Milo and Harry. Mother to two college-bound young men, she now has plenty of time to hike and mountain bike through the Boise foothills, knit, sew, read, volunteer, and hopefully learn to grow a bountiful garden and become a cook.

Chelsey Melby WyantSecretary - Chelsey Melby Wyant

I am born and raised right here in the majestic city of Boise, Idaho. In fact, my parents still live in the same house they brought me home from the hospital too! I attended Horizon Elementary, Fairmont Junior High, and Capital High School. I then went on to attend Boise State University and graduated with a BS in Health Science. I worked at St. Luke’s Health System for 12 years before transitioning to my current career path in the tech industry.

A passion of mine is seeing the world, although I always love coming home to our beautiful city. Some of my travels include Costa Rica, Thailand, Japan, and Slovenia… Just to name a few.

I am married to my wonderful husband Adam, and we just recently became parents to an awesome baby boy named Finnegan.

I truly enjoy seeing the work that Dunia does not only in our community, but throughout the world. It is a privilege to be a part of the stores important mission in this world.

Paul HatabTreasurer - Paul Hatab

Paul has been involved with Dunia Marketplace since it opened in 1995. Along with two other families from Hyde Park Mennonite Fellowship, they purchased the building, and with renovation help from the congregation, opened in November, 1995 with the original name of Beyond Borders. Over the years, Beyond Borders became Ten Thousand Villages, and eventually Dunia Marketplace. Paul served on the original Board for many years, volunteered as a regular clerk, and has been Treasurer for the past 5 years.

Paul has always valued how Dunia connects the global community to our local community. By selling the artisan’s crafts, and telling their stories, he appreciates how Fair Trade sustains ancient craft traditions, promotes healthy work environments, and counters economic injustices.

Before retiring in 2019, Paul’s employment history included working at the Mayo Clinic in medical research, teaching Mathematics and Statistics at BSU in the 1980’s, and 30 years at Micron Technology in Research and Development.

Paul has been married to Christine for 39 years, and they have 2 children and 3 grandchildren. He enjoys running and playing music. He has also been actively involved, for over 20 years, with Corpus Christi House (a day center for the homeless of Boise).
