Tagua nut picture

FUN FACT: Buttons for U.S. military uniforms in WW1 and WW2 were made from the tagua nut and tagua buttons can still be found on high-end clothing.  But plastic buttons replaced the common tagua button so harvesting (and income) declined.  But tagua is used for other things too.  It's often dyed when used for jewelry or left natural for small animal and other carvings.
