Gyari cotton is a traditional Tibetan handwoven stripe pattern. Gyari is a village in the Chamdo Prefecture in the eastern Tibet Autonomous Region of China. The Gyari are known for originating the intricate, multicolored, joyous design with a range of geometric lines and shapes. This traditional Tibetan handwoven stripe pattern is an aesthetic that was perfected over the past few hundred years by Tibetan neighbors in Nepal and Bhutan.
